What are the 4 different rotator modes?
Depending on your goals, Click Handler provides four rotator modes that allow you to direct clicks to your rotator URLs in different ways.
Fulfillment
All traffic, including repeat clicks from the same user, will be sent to the first active URL in the rotator by the fulfillment mode until that URL receives the maximum number of unique clicks (plus bonus) that has been specified.
“All traffic” refers to “all traffic that matches that URL’s settings.” The URL won’t get any clicks from non-Tier 1 nations, for instance, if the geotargeting parameters are limited to Tier 1 countries.
When you think to yourself, “I want the first order filled, then the second order filled, then the third order filled, and so on,” you would employ the Fulfillment Mode.
For instance, Billy will see URL #1 the first time he visited your rotator. Suzie will see URL #1 the first time she visits your rotator.
Spillover
When repeat users repeatedly visit your rotator, the Spillover Mode will deliver traffic to each URL sequentially.
With spillover rotators, each distinct visitor begins at the top.
This is primarily utilized to sell solo advertisements because it will optimize your traffic and yield the greatest amount of unique clicks.
Random
The Random mode is exactly that—random. Your clicks will be distributed to all active URLs in an entirely random fashion.
In due course, each link will receive about equal number of clicks (assuming that all URLs have the same settings); nonetheless, a small number of clicks will not ensure an even or equal distribution.
Sending a small number of clicks to a random rotator could result in one or a few URLs receiving the majority of the clicks, much like when you flip a coin 20 times and get 15 heads and 5 tails.
Sequential
Clicks will be sent to each rotator URL sequentially by the Sequential Mode, which will restart at the top after reaching the bottom.
It is typically not recommended to utilize this mode for solo advertising as it does not attempt to optimize unique clicks in the same manner as a Spillover rotator does.
But if every URL has the same settings, this is the optimal mode for ad coops since it guarantees that every URL gets the same amount of clicks.
